This House Needs Saving

Around 1870, architect Clovis Normand built this remarkable house for his parents in the town where he had grown up.

Normand was the son of a master carpenter and went on to become one of northern France’s most renowned architects, responsible for hundreds of projects across the region and beyond. This house, however, was personal.

Today, the property offers approximately 350 m² across three floors, with 15 rooms, nine bedrooms, a garden, outbuildings and 18 garages. Much of its architectural character remains visible, from the elaborate façade and decorative detailing to the surviving period features within.

It is now a full restoration project and will require a serious commitment from its next owner.

In March 2025, its importance was formally recognised when the entire property was protected as a Monument Historique.

More than 150 years after it was built, this is a rare opportunity to become the custodian of a house with genuine architectural and historical significance, and to give it the future it deserves.
